Libya, located in Northern Africa, is officially known as the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, GSPLAJ and it is the 4th largest nation in Africa in terms of area. In Africa, Libya has the largest proven oil reserves. The economy of Libya is mainly dependant on revenues from the oil sector which basically generates all export earnings. Mining and hydrocarbon industries are also on the rise and contributing towards the rapid growth of the economy of Libya. Main industries of the country include: petroleum, steel, iron, food processing, textiles and cement. Tourism in Libya is also growing. |
